Pasadena-based
Punchcard, the startup headed by Andy Steuer which is developing mobile applications to enable local businesses to run punchcard-based loyalty programs, said today that it has linked with the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce to enable local Pasadena businesses to use its service. The startup--which is backed by Idealab--said the effort will help Pasadena area merchants increase revenues and help communicate and reward customers of their businesses. Punchcard's apps, which run on iOS and Android, allow users to earn rewards for visiting local businesses, and taking a photo of their receipts from those businesses. Those rewards include cash back, free meals, or other gifts from those retailers. The company has been initially ramping its program in its hometown of Pasadena, where it has a lengthy list of local restaurants and retailers using its loyalty app. Steuer is a serial entrepreneur, whose last firm was MerchEngines.com.
