Esri Launches ArcGIS App On Kindle Fire
Redlands-based Esri, the developer of geographical information system (GIS) mapping software, released a new version of its software for the Amazon Kindle Fire tablet and other Android devices. According to Esri, its ArcGIS for Android allows users to access and edit Esri maps on the mobile devices. The new app is free, but requires users also have an ArcGIS system. Esri develops mapping software, widely used by governments and major enterprises, to manage mapping data. Esri also has apps for Apple iOS and Windows Phone. Esri said the new Kindle Fire app is available on the Amazon Appstore for Android.
