TeleSign, the provider of telephone-based, two-factor authentication services being used by major Internet services providers, has signed on another big customer today,
Intel. TeleSign, which is led by repeat entrepreneur Steve Jillings, said that it is working with Intel Corporation to tie together security from the Intel Identity Protection Technology (Intel IPT) and TeleSign systems. The collaboration is expected to help increase security of logins via Intel Ultrabook and Intel Core vPro (3rd generation) powered laptops. Financial details of the partnership were not disclosed. TeleSign's services provide a second authentication channel when people log into Internet services or software, using a mobile phone or landline call to further authorize a user's login. TeleSign's white labeled services are already used by a large chunk of top websites and web services providers.
