Qualcomm has backed San Francisco-based
Plivo, a provider of voice and messaging applications APIs. Plivo said this morning that it has raised $1.75M in a seed funding round, which came from Andreessen Horowitz, Battery Ventures, Qualcomm Incorporated and SV Angel. Plivo provides voice and messaging APIs, used by developers to develop telephony, SMS, and other applications. The firm competes with such companies as Twilio, CallFire, Tropo, and others.
