Cohu Acquires Ismeca Semiconductor
Poway-based Cohu, the developer of test handling, burn-in, and thermal subsystems for the semiconductor testing industry, said over the weekend that it is buying Ismeca Semiconductor Holdings SA. Cohu is buying Ismeca from Schweiter Technologies AG, in a deal worth $54.5M in cash. Ismeca is based in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, and manufactures test handling and back-end finishing equipment for the IC, LED, and discrete component business. Cohu said Ismeca had sales of $84M for the twelve months ended June 2012.
