Carlsbad-based Verdezyne, the developer of renewable chemical technology which is backed by BP Alternative Energy Ventures, DSM Venturing B.V., OVP Venture Partners and Monitor Ventures, has just signed a company in the polymer fiber business. According to Verdezyne, it is in a strategic relationship with Universal Fiber Systems, LLC, a provider of carpet and apparel yarns used in commercial carpets and apparel fabrics. Verdezyne said it will supply its bio-based products to Universal Fiber Systems. Financial details of the deal were not announced.
