Los Angeles-based Fandango
, the online and mobile movie ticketing service which is a unit of NBCUniversal, said today that its 2012 was its "best year in company history". The company said it had a 12-year record high in ticket sales, web and mobile traffic, and app downloads. Fandango said it was seeing around 41 million monthly unique online and mobile visitors in its peak months of 2012. The site did not give any financial details of its year, but did say it saw a 57 percent surge in annual ticket sales. Fandango is run by Paul Yanover. The firm attributed growth to expanded exhibitor deals, partnerships with such sites as Yahoo Movies, AOL Moviefone and MSN Movies, and a growing mobile business.
