DTS announced this morning that it high definition audio enhancement product, DTS-HD, is now being supported as part of Microsoft's Smooth Streaming platform. Microsoft's Smooth Streaming platform, part of its IIS Media Services, is an adaptive bit rate streaming protocol for sending HD, 1080p media over the Internet. DTS said the new support will allow consumers on PCs, tablets, connected TVs, and set top boxes to experience DTS surround sound.
