MOSAID, Caltech In Patent Licensing Deal

Canada-based MOSAID Technologies and Pasadena-based California Institute of Technology (Caltech) said Tuesday that the firms are in a patent licensing agreement. MOSAID will license certain Caltech patents relating to technologies used in wireless communications chips and systems, power management chips, and light emitting diodes. MOSAID said it will exclusively license those patents to third parties, provide royalty revenues to Caltech, and will reimburse Caltech for expenses related to the patents. The firm also said it will work with Caltech to also identify other patents in their portfolio for licensing. MOSAID licenses intellectual property and supplies memory test and analysis systems to semiconductor firms.
