MRV Communications, APCON Settle Patent Lawsuit

Oregon-based APCON said today that the firm has settled its patent dispute with Chatsworth's MRV Communications. APCON, which manufactures physical layer switches used for communications and laboratory networks, had sued MRV Communications in January over a patent covering APCON's switching cross-connect technology. APCON said today that it has settled all disputes in its lawsuit with MRV, saying that the present product offerings from MRV do not infringe on its patents, and that customers of MRV may purchase MRV products without fear of reprisal from APCON. The lawsuit was originally filed in the United States District Court for the Central District of California; terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
