MuckerLab Unveiling New Startup Class Today

MuckerLab, the Los Angeles startup accelerator headed by Erik Rannala, is presenting its newest startup class today in a Demo Day. The accelerator said that the demo day is a culmination of its latest three month program, which included ten new companies in mentoring, collaboration, funding, and access to its network of investors and entrepreneurs. MuckerLab's prior class included such hot Los Angeles startups as SurfAir, Retention Science, Wallaby, and InstaCanvas.

The newest startups out of MuckerLab, who are presenting today include The Black Tux (tuxedo rental and sales); Blayze (online video analytics and audience development); Eventum (enterprise event marketing for brands); GetMeRated (mobile, social chat and photo app for teens); MarkedUp (desktop and enterprise application analytics); Panjo (marketplace for auto, sports, and hobby enthusiasts); RocksBox (discovery and sales channel for fashion jewelry); TouchFrame (interactive game show apps); and Younity (personal cloud storage service).

MuckerLab has been fairly successful in attracting venture capital interest in its prior class of companies, with a significant chunk of the group's inagural class gaining venture or angel funding. MuckerLab's model is based on the TechStars incubation model, and the group is an affiliate of that startup accelerator.
