MySpace, Softbank Launch MySpace Japan
Los Angeles-based MySpace.com and Japanese firm Softbank confirmed today a venture into Japan, saying that the two are in a 50-50 joint venture to launch a Japanese version of the popular social networking web site. MySpace KK will feature a localized version of the MySpace web site, and will operate as a separate company. MySpace said that the new company will maintain headquarters in Tokyo, with local operations and staff, and will be headed by Makoto Kouyama.
