Los Angeles-based Mzima Networks, a provider of Internet bandwidth services, is being acquired by London's PacketExchange, the firms said Monday. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. According to PacketExchange, the acquisition will merge both companies' customer base and operations. Grant Kirkwood, CTO of Mzima Networks, will become Chief Technology Officer for the merged company. Mzima Networks owns its own, private optical long-haul network used for providing private Ethernet connections for major Internet sites and other companies.
