    NanoImaging Sees $1.5M

San Diego-based NanoImaging Services, a provider of high resolution, three dimensional transmission electron microscope imaging services, said Tuesday that it has raised $1.5M in a Series A round from Merck Capital Ventures. NanoImaging said the funding will go to expand the firm's service laboratory, and a move from San Diego to La Jolla. NanoImaging's TEM imaging services are used to view the macromolecular structures of pharmaceuticals, used as part of the drug discovery process. The firm's founders are Clint Potter and Bridget Carragher, both of whom are faculty at The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla.
