Napster Gets Sporty
Los Angeles-based digital music firm Napster said yesterday that it is expanding its rangtone service to include sports-themed media. The firm is tapping partner Dwango Wireless to include content from action sports atheletes. The content will include snowboarder Marc Frank Montoya, Supercross racer Kevin Windham, freestyle motocross rider Adam Jones. All of the atheletes are sponsored by Napster as "Team Napster". The promotion also includes marketing to sports fans, where Napster is giving out free codes for its ringtones and trial membership for its digital music service.
