Napster Makes Foray Into Wireless Phones
Los Angeles-based Napster, Roxio's online music division, announced this morning that its portable music subscription service is now available for users of AT&T Wireless and Audiovox SMT5600 Smartphones. The compatability of the service allows mobile phone users to download and play full length music onto the Audiovox phone. The Audiovox phone provides enough memory for up to 6 songs, as well as the ability to add memory chips for additional music capacity. The music download service is offered as part of the Napster On the Go service for MP3 players and other portable devices. The downloads can be through Napster's subscription or a la carte services.
