Hughes Becomes The DIRECTV Group
El Segundo-based Hughes Electronics has been renamed "The DIRECTV Group" (www.directv.com) as well as changing its NYSE stock symbol from "HS" to "DTV". According to the company, the change was made to reflect the company's focus on its DIRECTV business.

Realtor.com Inks MSN Deal
Westlake Village-based Homestore announced that its Realtor.com property has signed a deal with MSN to integrate the company's listings with MSN's House and Home Channel. Homestore's listings will be available through the channel home page as well as a "Buying a House" section of MSN. Terms were not disclosed.

Evolution Robotics Upgrades Development Platform

The company has added new autonomous navigation capability, improved programming interfaces for vision recognition, and better documentation and development tools in its 3.0 upgrade. Gluecode Software Finds $5M
Los Angeles-based Gluecode Software announced that it has closed a Series A of venture funding of $5M. The investments came from Rustic Canyon and Palomar Ventures, who co-led the round. Gluecode is developing process management, security management, and enterprise portals based on an managed open source model. The company's products are based on open source components.
