Medea Ships New RAID Arrays
Calabasas-based Medea Corp (www.medea.com) announced the shipment of the company's new 2-Gbit VideoRaid FCR and FCRX fibre channel disk arrays. The two arrays are focused on providing high sustained disk data rates for video and multimedia applications.

Quest Completes Aelita Acquisition
Irvine-based Quest Software announced that it has completed its $115M acquisition of Aelita Software. The acquisition, which was announced in January, adds Aelita's system management software for Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange to Quest's software portfolio.

Kintera Buys Web Firm
San Diego-based Kintera (www.kintera.com) announced that it has acquired Carol/Trevelyan Strategy Group (CTSG), a provider of online tools for nonprofit organizations, political campaigns, and unions. The deal is worth roughly $5M in stock and $250K in cash. CTSG had 2003 revenues of $5.2M, and has 70 employees who will join Kintera.

IEEE Takes Stand On Offshoring
The Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers-USA (www.ieeeusa.org) announced Thursday its position on the offshoring debate. The group, which represents more than 225,000 electrical, electronic, computer, and software engineers here in the US, stated that offshoring contributes to high unemployment levels among U.S. technologists, and poses a serious, long-term challenge to the nation's technological and innovative leadership. Wispry Raises $1M
Irvine-based Wispry has raised $1M for its tunable RF components and modules. The round was led by the Tech Coast Angels, who invested more than $900K in the company. Wispry is based on micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) technology and is a spinoff of Coventor.
