BeFree, Commission Junction Combine Brands
Santa Barbara-based Be Free and Commission Junction announced the companies have now been unified under a single brand name. The new entity will be called Commission Junction. The two companies are owned by parent company ValueClick (www.valueclick.com), and both are focused on affiliate marketing.

JAMDAT Ports Microsoft Games to Mobile Devices
Los Angeles-based JAMDAT Mobile (www.jamdatmobile.com) announced that it has signed a publishing agreement with Microsoft Game Studios to move Xbox several Xbox video titles to mobile devices. The agreement calls for JAMDAT to publish titles for wireless platforms, including Microsoft Windows-based smartphones.

Akonix Rolls New Perimeter Security Solution
San Diego-based Akonix Systems (www.akonix.com) has upgraded its perimeter security solution for instant messaging. The new version provides support for instant messaging (IM) and peer-to-peer file sharing networks. The company's solution prevents unauthorized access to instant messaging and peer to peer solutions.
