eCost Appoints CEO
Torrance-based eCOST.com (www.ecost.com) has appointed Adam Shaffer as CEO. Shaffer was most recently CEO of Safety-911, and has also been at Micro Warehouse. eCOST is a subsidiary of PC Mall, and markets refurbished and close-out electronics products.

Parasoft Releases Embedded Testing Tool
Monrovia-based Parasoft (www.parasoft.com) announced the release of a new embedded C++ test tool for embedded systems. The new tool provides automated error prevention of embedded software, allowing for unit testing of real time systems and support for simulation and communications with target systems.

Eidogen Licenses Software to Boehringer Ingelheim
Pasadena-based Eidogen announced that Boehringer Ingelheim is pilot licensing the company's computational drug discovery platform. Eidogen's software is targeted at structural informatics, which looks to combine bioinformatics and cheminformatics. The company's platform is designed to provide target prioritization, lead discovery, and lead optimization for drug discovery companies. Eidogen is backed by Tavistock Life Sciences.

TechnoCom Raises $6.75M
Encino-based TechnoCom has raised $6.75M for its wireless location operations support and business support systems. The round was led by San Diego-based Timeline Ventures, and also included participation by Third Point Management Company, Titan Investment Partners, and iSherpa Capital.
