XIMETA Upgrades Drive Sharing
Irvine-based Ximeta (www.ximeta.com) announced that it has upgraded the company's drivers for its disk sharing technology. The company's products are designed for non-technical consumers to share disk storage through USB or Ethernet connections, without the complexity of high end network attached storage (NAS).

MRV Adds 4Gbps Fibre Channel Equipment
Chatsworth-based MRV Communications announced that it has added a new component for 4Gbps Fibre Channel networks. The company's new media cross connect enables storage labs to automate testing capabilities, by allowing for digital cross connection of high speed communications protocols such as SONET, Ethernet, and Fibre Channel.

Autobytel Acquires iDriveonline
Irvine-based Autobytel (www.autobytel.com) announced that it is acquiring iDriveonline, a provider of customer loyalty and retention marketing programs in the automotive industry. The deal is worth $11.7M in cash and stock. Autobytel stated that it expects that the combined Autobytel and iDriveonline products should contribute to $15M in revenue this year.

Favrille Finds $44M
San Diego-based Favrille has landed $44M in a Series C financing. The round was led by William Blair Capital Partners, and included new investors Needham Capital Partners, Avtech Ventures, Oakwood Medical Investors, and others. Current investors also participated. The company is developing drug therapies for cancer and autoimmune diseases.
