Tony Giraudo has joined Camarillo-based Semtech as COO. Giraudo was most recently CEO of El Segundo-based TelASIC Communications. Giraudo will oversee day to day operational activities and play a key role in new product development.

Ixia Upgrades Broadband Testing Tools
Calabasas-based Ixia (www.ixiacom.com) has upgraded its IxAccess broadband test suite. According to the company the new enhancements add performance, stress and negative tests for broadband access aggregation devices. This eliminates the need for a large number of end user devices such as DSL modems for testing network equipment.

5G Wireless, Nomadix in OEM Agreement
Marina Del Rey-based 5G Wireless (www.5gwireless.com) has entered into an OEM agreement with Westlake Village-based Nomadix (www.nomadix.com). According to 5G Wireless, the company will add the billing, authentication, and management capabilities of Nomadix' solutions to 5G's suite of wireless broadband products. The two companies will jointly market solutions.

Lindows Files for IPO
San Diego-based Lindows (www.lindows.com) filed for an IPO this morning with the SEC, with WR Hambrecht and Roth Capital underwriting. According to the company's S-1 filing, the company is looking to raise up to $57.5M. The firm develops Linux-based desktop operating software. The company shows revenues of $2M in the year ending December 31, 2003, with a net loss for last year of $4M.
