LifeMasters Acquires Software Firm
Irvine-based LifeMasters (www.lifemasters.com) announced the acquisition of Medical Scientists, a provider of predictive modeling technology. Terms were not disclosed. LifeMaster will integrate Medical Scientists' predictive modeling software into its software products. The products are used for determining which individuals and groups are most likely to develop health problems and what the cost of the health plan will be to an employer.

Qualstar Ships Rack Mount Tape Solution
Simi Valley-based Qualstar (www.qualstar.com) has shipped its latest rack mount tape library solution. The RLS-8244 provides 8.8 terabytes of capacity in a 5U rack mount profile. The solution is based on LTO tape technology.

Quest Upgrades Exchange Tool
Irvine-based Quest Software (www.quest.com) has released version 6.0 of its ActiveGroups tool for automating Microsoft Exchange distribution lists and groups. The tool makes it easier to maintain up to date groups and lists based on changes to employee databases.
