ORFID Creates Science and Engineering Advisory Board
Los Angeles-based ORFID (www.orfid.com), which is developing organic electronic technology, announced the formation of a Science and Engineering advisory board. Helicomm Ships ZigBee Development Kit, Modules

Evite Hooks Up With Fandango
Los Angeles-based Evite, Ticketmaster/IAC's online event planning service, has teamed up with Fandango to provide group movie outing tools. Evite will integrate with Fandango to allow Fandango users to link to friends to coordinate movie outings for free. Evite provides online services which allow people to coordinate events, send invitations, receive RSVPs, and manage their events attendance.

Sendia Raises Venture Round
Santa Monica-based Sendia announced that it has raised venture funding from Globespan Capital Partners and Mobius Venture Capital and launched the company. Sendia provides wireless enterprise solutions to extend desktop applications to mobile devices, and is headed by Andy De Mari, who was the founder, CEO, and President of ISOCOR Software. The company's software initially targets extending the Salesforce.com service to handheld and mobile devices such as the RIM Blackberry.

Linksys Partners With RealNetworks
Cisco's Irvine-based Linksys division (www.linksys.com) has partnered with RealNetworks to ship a new device based on RealNetworks' Rhapsody Internet jukebox service. The Linksys Wireless-B Media Link is a new home audio device which uses 802.11b networking to send PC-based music to a home stereo. The new device allows Rhapsody users to remotely browse their downloaded music library from their stereo, linking their computer directly with their sound system.
