BakBone Adds VP of Customer Support
San Diego-based BakBone Software (www.bakbone.com) has appointed Ken Hudak as VP of Customer Support. Hudak was most recently leading BakBone's sales support organization, and has also served at Orchestria Corp, Action Point, Sterling Software, and Landmark Systems. BakBone provides backup software products.

Ashvattha Ships RF CMOS Device
San Diego-based Ashvattha Semiconductor (www.ashvattha.com) said yesterday that it has shipped its multi-mode radio frequency solution, which provides combined GSM, Bluetooth, and GPS receiver functionality on a single device. The company's highly integrated IC and isolation technology enables Bluetooth, GPS, and GSM/GPRS cellular radios to operate simultaneously on the same chip, and is designed for wireless device manufacturers. ViewSonic Unveils LCD Displays, TV
Walnut-based ViewSonic (www.viewsonic.com) has added several new LCD displays and an LCD TV to its product lineup. The company's new N1300 LCD TV is a lightweight LCD display designed for small spaces such as kitchens, bathrooms, boats, or RVs. The company's VX510 and VX715 15-inch and 17-inch LCD screens are designed for business computer users and support DVI, VGI, and broadcast-quality video. RIAA Launches New Offensive
The Recording Industry Association of America has issued a new round of lawsuits against people who are sharing music files on the Internet, this time targeting an additional 493 unidentified people. The lawsuits were filed across the country in federal courts in Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, New Jersey, New York, Minnesota, Missouri, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, and Texas.
