CaminoSoft Added to GSA Schedule
Westlake Village-based CaminoSoft announced that its software solutions for Information Lifecyclce Management (ILM) are now available on the General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule. The products are available through CS&S Computer Systems in Arizona.

JAMDAT Provides Wireless Entertainment to Kyocera
Los Angeles-based JAMDAT Mobile has signed a deal with San Diego-based Kyocera Wireless Corp to provide trial versions of its wireless game software on all Kyocera BREW-enabled K400 series handsets in North America. JAMDAT games will be pre-loaded on the handsets, and users given the option to purchase full versions of those games. Kyocera Wireless is a subsidiary of Kyocera International, and acquired Qualcomm's CDMA consumer wireless phone business in 2000. JAMDAT is backed by Benchmark, Apax (More info...)

Akonix Lands Public Utilities Agency
San Diego-based Akonix (www.akonix.com) said today that Rochester Public Utilities has selected the company's instant messaging gateway to manage and secure employee use of instant messaging. Rochester Public Utilities is looking to use instant messaging as a customer service tool, and was also looking to secure unauthorized instant messaging and peer-to-peer file sharing activity on its internal networks.

Ahead Upgrades Nero 6 Digital Media Software
Glendale-based Ahead Software has upgraded the company's popular media software, Nero 6 Ultra Edition, with the addition of a variety of new features. Nero provides CD and DVD burning software, with support for MP3, MPEG-4, Dolby Digital 5.1 surround and Dolby 2 channel encoding, and Double Layer recording. The company has also added a new photo management application, Nero PhotoShow Express, to the suite of products. MusicMatch Card Arrives at 7-Eleven
San Diego-based MusicMatch download cards are now available at 7-Eleven, according to the company. The download cards provides prepaid cards which allow users to purchase songs from the Internet. MusicMatch's service allows users to find and buy music online, and competes against such services as Apple iTunes and Napster. MusicMatch recently signed a deal with Vesta Corp. to provide prepaid cards for access to MusicMatch's music database.

Apparel Retailer Taps WebSideStory
San Diego-based WebSideStory (www.websidestory.com) has landed outdoor apparel retailer Sierra Trading Post as a customer. According to WebSideStory, Sierra Trading Post will use WebSideStory's HBX solution to optimize its affiliate and search engine marketing programs. Sierra Trading Post is using the solution to pinpoint which affiliate members are providing the most value to the company.

SeraCare Buys DNA Startup
Oceanside-based SeraCare Life Sciences (www.seracare.com) has purchased Genomics Collaborative Inc for $16M. GCI focuses on provoding clinical samples and the application of human genetics to target validation for drug discovery. SeraCare is a manufacturer and provider of biological materials and services essential for the manufacture of diagnostic tests, commercial bioproduction of therapeutic drugs.

eEye Raises $15M
Aliso Viejo-based eEye Digital Security said that it has closed a Series D round of funding totaling $15M. The round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners, and included participation by Insight Venture Partners. The funding brings the company's total to $30M. eEye is developing vulnerability management software solutions targeted at the enterprise.
