Troika Networks Announces Channel Partner Program

Broadcom Upgrades RAID Controllers
Irvine-based Broadcom (www.broadcom.com) said today that it has upgraded its RAIDCore line of RAID controllers to support distributed sparing, a technique used to increase the availability of RAID systems. Distributed sparing provides space on RAID devices without relying on a single "hot spare" disk, reducing the amount of downtime and vulnerability to a single drive failure.

GoldPocket Powers Bravo TV SMS Campaign
Burbank-based GoldPocket Interactive (www.goldpocket.com) has landed Bravo TV's "The West Wing" for a Short Messaging Service (SMS), wireless phone polling event. GoldPocket's EM Connect product will be used to allow Sprint wireless phone users to participate in on-air polls, which will allow users to answer poll questions via text messaging. Those polls will be tabulated in real time and sent to participants for comparison.

Lynx Ships Security Products
Calabasas-based Lynx Photonic Networks (www.lynxpn.com) said that it has added two new advanced systems for optical communication security. The company introduced a new system (the LL-3724) which monitors optical networks for physical intrusion, and which will switch traffic to alternate lines if any tapping is detected. Xingtone Raises Series A
Los Angeles-based Xingtone announced that it has received a first round of funding from Siemens Mobile Acceleration. Xingtone provides an application which allows Internet users to create custom ringtones, using MP3 or CD libraries. The application also allows users to upload images and games to their wireless handsets.
