GKM Expands Fund, Opens Menlo Park OfficeLos Angeles-based GKM Ventures announced that it has completed a second close of its venture fund, increasing the fund's assets from $48M to $97M. As a result the venture firm has opened a Sand Hill Road office managed by David Stastny, managing director, and added Paul Sherer as a venture partner and Kai Tse as principal. GKM is focused on investing $2 to $4M in expansion stage companies in the western U.S.

TransDimension Raises $18M, Acquires USB Core ProviderIrvine-based TransDimension announced that it has acquired ARC International's Peripheral Connectivity assets. The company gains ARC's USB and Ethernet IP cores and development tools, expanding TransDimension's suite of USB semiconductors and software.
