Evolution Robotics Targets RetailersPasadena-based Evoluation Robotics (www.evolution.com) has announced a new product focused on the retail shopping industry. The company's new LaneHawk product uses Evolution Robotics' vision recognition systems to automatically detect and ring up items at the bottom of shopping baskets, reducing loss of items due to unaccounted or hidden items in the bottom of shopping carts. The company says that its product is compatible with all retail POS systems.

Commission Junction Co-Founder Launches IncubatorPer Pettersen, co-founder of Commission Junction, announced that he has launched a new "high-tech holding company" which will develop and operate a network of online businesses. The new company, Estalea, is planning to launch three startups this year. Pettersen will act as CEO, and Roger Kjensrud, former engineering director of Commission Junction, will serve as CTO.
