MRV Adds Linux-based Servers
Chatsworth-based MRV Communications (www.mrv.com) has introduced a new line of NEBS compliant console servers based on the Linux operating system. The new LX-8000S family of console servers are designed for managing telecommunications equipment, blade centers, and computer clusters. MRV provides infrastructure equipment and optical components for the telecommunications industry.

M-Audio Ships PCI Surround Sound Card
Los Angeles-based M-Audio (www.m-audio.com) has announced a new PCI-based, high definition surround sound card for Windows and Macintosh machines. The company's Revolution 5.1 surround sound card is targeted toward gamers, providing 3D audio positioning features, six outputs for speakers and a subwoofer, all at high definition audio rates. Verari On Board With Intel Xeon Upgrade
San Diego-based Verari Systems said this week that it will offer its blade server systems based on the latest Intel Xeon processors. The company will incorporate the Intel Xeon running at 3.60 GHz and Intel Extended Memory 64 Technology (EM64T), a new technology which allows 64-bit operation on Intel's 32-bit processors. Verari designs and manufacturs blade-based servers which provide very high performance, high density computing.

ValueClick Acquires Pricerunner AB
Westlake Village-based ValueClick (www.valueclick.com) said that it has agreed to acquire Pricerunner AB, a European comparison shopping site. ValueClick will add Pricerunner's services to its suite of online marketing solutions. Pricerunner provides information on over 170,000 products and 1200 online retailers to online buyers. Google Makes Stock and Options Goof
Google has offered to repurchase up to 23M shares of stock and 5M options from its employees and consultants, due to not being qualified under state securities laws. The company said in a filing that the options grant and stock issuances may have violated the Securities Act of 1933 by not being registered. The company has issued a rescission offer, where it would repurchase the shares granted at a price equal to 20% of the per share price plus interest, whether or not the shares were vested.
