TransDimension Adds Development Kits
Irvine-based TransDimension (www.transdimension.com) has introduced a new family of development kits for its USB controllers, according to the company. Vitesse Ships Multirate Optical Transceivers
Camarillo-based Vitesse Semiconductor (www.vitesse.com) has announced new optical components for Fibre Channel and Gigabit Ethernet. The company's new chipset are designed for use in multirate SFP (Single Formfactor Pluggable) modules, and support 1 Gbps, 2Gbps, and 4Gbps speeds in a two-chip solution. The company said that the new integrated chipset should save money and simplify the assembly process for SFP modules.

Ixia Upgrades IP Network Testing Solution
Calabasas-based Ixia (www.ixiacom.com) has introduced IxVoice 3.0, an upgraded version of its IP network testing platform. According to the company, the new version now provides comprehensive test coverage for PSTN and VoIP technologies, and includes a new application programming interface (API) that can be used to control IxVoice applications via TCL/Expect scripts. Kintera Buys Recreational Management Software Company
San Diego-based Kintera (www.kintera.com) announced that it has acquired BNW Software, a provider of recretaional and athletic facilities management software, for 22,000 shares of restricted common stock and $281,000 in cash. BNW provides software for colleges, universities, and community centers to manage intramural leagues, equipment, facilities, membership, building access control, and program registration. Tekelec Acquires Telecomm Products Provider
Calabasas-based Tekelec (www.tekelec.com) announced that it is acquiring Steleus Group, a provider of real-time network intelligence to telecom operators, for $56M. Tekelec said that it will pay approximately $29M in cash and $27M in stock for the privately held company. Steleous provides General Packet Radio Services (GPRS) and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) Solutions, which Tekelec said it will use to enhance and differentiate its next generation switching and signaling product offerings. Lindows Delays IPO
In the latest setback for IPO hopeful tech companies, San Diego-based Lindows (www.lindows.com) has indefinately postponed its IPO. According to a statement released by the company, it is postponing but not withdrawing its IPO, due to current adverse market conditions. The company said that it may proceed with a public offering at a later date as it monitors market conditions.
