RF Magic Expands Board
San Diego-based RF Magic announced this morning that it has appointed Moiz Beguwala to its board of directors. Berguwala was most recently SVP and General Manager of the Conexant Wireless Communications Division. Beguwala is currently also no the boards of Skyworks Solutions and SiRF Technology. RF Magic is backed by Conexant, Echostar, Finaventures, and others.

Vitesse Adds VP Sales and Marketing
Camarillo-based Vitesse has added Michael Rodensky as a new Vice President of Sales and Marketing, according to the company. Rodensky will be responsible for the company's worldwide sales, marketing communications, and customer support. Rodensky was most recently VP Worldwide Sales for SolarFlare Communications, and has experience at Conexant and AMD. The company said that previous VP of Sales and Marketing Richard Riker resigned for personal reasons.

Applied Wave Inks Korean Deal
El Segundo-based Applied Wave Research said that a Korean company, BOE HYDIS Technology Co., Ltd., will tap the company's analog design tools for its thin film transistor (TFT) liquid crystal display panel designs. The Korean company will integrate AWR's software into LCD display design process. Applied Wave Research develops high frequency electornic design automation products, specifically targeting wireless telecommunications, networking, high speed computers, and more.

Xamlon Ships XAML Development Tool
La Jolla-based Xamlon announced that it has released the first version of its XAML development tool for developing Microsoft .NET applications. The company's new software, Xamlon Pro 1.0, allows developers to create Microsoft XAML based applications. XAML is a new XMl markup language for creating applications which Microsoft has said it will begin shipping in new operating systems in 2006. Websense Joins Anti-Phishing Group
San Diego-based WebSense has joined the Financial Services Technology Consortium Counter-Phishing Initiative. The FSTC is an industry initiative to address the issue of phising scams which are now plaguing the financial services industry. Phishing is the use of fake emails asking users to enter their account numbers and passwords, which are later used by criminals. Aristos Logic Raises $12M
Foothill Ranch-based Aristos Logic announced today that it has raised a $12M Series D funding round. The round came from existing investors JP Morgan Partner, TPG Ventures, Woodside Fund, and QTV Capital, and brings the total raised by the company to $65M. Aritos is developing silicon processors for providing RAID functionality to storage devices. The company said that the funding will be used for ramping production, marketing, and next generatio product development for the company.
