MovieLink Adds CTO
Santa Monica-based Movielink (www.movielink.com) said yesterday that it has named David Beddow as Chief Technology Officer. Beddow will lead the company's technical strategy in the VOD market. Beddow was the foudner and CEO of Ascent Media, and also served at Liberty Media and TCI.

TelASIC Expands Board of Directors
El Segundo-based TelASIC announced that it has added Syrus Madavi to its board of directors. Madavi was most recently President and COO at JDS Uniphase. Madavi also has served at Texas Instruments and Burr-Brown. TelASIC is developing mixed-signal and analog ICs targeted at the wireless infrastructure area, and is backed by Agilent, ComVentures, Mission Ventures, Raytheon, and Redpoint Ventures.

Edmunds.com Hires Editorial Director
Santa Monica-based Edmunds.com announced that Kevin Smith has joined the company as Editorial Director. Smith joins from Primedia Group, where he was Editor-in-Chief of Motor Trend, and where he also was an editor at Car and Driver, Automobile, and Off-Road magazines. Edmunds said that Smith will help the company expand its editorial content and broadband video. The company said that it is looking to expand its relationships with automakers with new product introductions and vehicle testing.

En Pointe Buys Technology Reseller
Los Angeles-based En Pointe Technologies announced that it has acquired Viablelinks, a Portland and Boise-based reseller of technology products. En Pointe is a provider of technology and services for medium to large commercial and government customers. En Pointe will also hire approximately 40 of Viablelinks' employees.

SiliconSystems Introduces Product Line
Aliso Viejo-based SiliconSystems, a startup developing storage based on solid state non-volatile memory, announced the company's SiliconDrive technology and product line. The company's new SiliconDrive family of products feature solid-state disks with a capacity of 128MB to 8GB, with support for PC card and other drive interfaces. Insider Pages Set To Launch Today
Pasadena-based Idealab is set to launch its newest company today, Insider Pages (www.insiderpages.com), according to sources. The new web site is a twist on social networking, allowing people to sign up and connect with friends, and offering recommendations for local businesses and services. Gross is planning on launching the venture at the Web 2.0 Conference. Idealab is best known for its success in launcing Overture Services, CitySearch, and recently for its sale of Picasa to Google. Postal Service Suspends PhotoStamps Program
The US Postal Service has suspended Stamps.com's popular PhotoStamps service, as it re-evaluates the program. The service allowed people to upload any picture for inclusion on a sheet of stamps. According to Stamps.com, the company shipped 130,000 sheets of stamps during its pilot run, and has a backlog of orders it said it expects to ship in the first quarter of next year.
