Evolution Robotics Adds Localization
Pasadena-based Evolution Robotics (www.evolution.com) said that it has introduced a new hardware and software solution targeted at localization for mobile devices in indoor environments. The new solution, which works similarly to GPS, uses infrared light to enable robotic devices to better navigate in an indoor environment. The company's NorthStar solution projects invisible IR light onto the ceiling of its environment to determine where a device is and where it is heading through triangulation.

Interlink Introduces Software Development Tools
Camarillo-based Interlink Electronics (www.interlinkelec.com) announced today that it has added a new software suite targeted at the security and biometrics industry. The company's IntegriSign( Signature Software Suite helps customers and system integrators develop signature capture softare using Interlink's ePad electronic signature hardware. Avexus Upgrades Aviation Maintenance Software, Appoints VP
San Diego-based Avexus announced that it has upgraded a its Avexus 8.0 maintenance, repair, and overhaul solution for the aviation, aerospace, and defense industry, and appointed a new VP of Technology. The upgraded Avexus solution is based on a Java architecture. The company also appointed George Zdravecky as VP of Technology and Engineering. FastClick Gets Tickled
Santa Barbara-based Fastclick has inked a deal with Tickle Inc. to provide lead advertising campaign optimization and management solutions. Fastclick's AdServer products will be used by the Tickle social networking and matchmaking service to optimize their ad placement across several ad networks. Fastclick's software is used to determine which ads and outlets are working best for advertisers. Iomega Ships Disk Backup Solution-
San Diego-based Iomega (www.iomega.com) announced a new disk-to-disk backup system targeted at small and medium-sized businesses. The new solution, which utilizes Iomega's REV Technology and CA BrightStor ARCserve backup software, replaces SCSI-based tape autoloaders and other backup devices. The new solution features a 10-slot, 2U desktop design which stores up to 350GB uncompressed data. D-Link, Napster Partner On Music Streaming
Los Angeles-based Napster (www.napster.com) and Fountain Valley-based D-Link (www.d-link.com) said this morning that the two companies are partnering to bundle access to the Napster Network with D-Link's MediaLounge Wireless Media Player. A free trial of the Napster downloadable music and radio streaming services will be available with the D-Link hardware.
