Iomega Appoints Director
San Diego-based Iomega announced this morning that it has appointed a new member to its Board of Directors. Jonathan S. Huberman will serve on its board. Huberman is general partner and co-portfolio manager of Caliber Capital Partners, a hedge fund focused on small and mid-cap companies, and previously was at Idanta Partners Ltd.. Huberman was previously a member of the company's board, but had resigned early this year due to Idanta's divestiture of Iomega stock. He rejoins the board due to join (More info...)

TransDimension Certifies High Speed USB
Irvine-based Transdimension and semiconductor maker SMSC announced last week that the two companies have completed high speed USB compliance testing between the company's respective products. TransDimension's USB controller and SMSC's physical layer transceivers have been certified with each other. SMSC's ULPI transceivers implement a new USB specifications that significantly reduces existing USB pin count for components. Commission Junction Launches in Germany
Santa Barbara-based Commission Junction has launched into Germany, according to the company. The company will offer its affiliate marketing services in Europe. The company will become ValueClick's fourth business in Germany, which already includes its media business, the Pricerunner.com shopping site, and Mediaplex ad server business. Akonix Upgrades IM and P2P Firewall
San Diego-based Akonix said this morning that it has upgraded its instant messaging and peer-to-peer file sharing firewall, Akonix Enforcer. The new 4.0 version of the software adds the ability to block the latest P2P protocols and networks, including BitTorrent and eDonkey, the ability to block Internet Relay Chat instant messaging, and better ability to analyze VLAN traffic. SKY MobileMedia Finds $6.25M
San Diego-based SKY MobileMedia announced this morning that it has raised a Series A funding worth $6.25M. The funding came from Enterprise Partners Venture Capital. SKY is focused on developing software applications for wireless phones. Business.com Raises $10M
Santa Monica-based Business.com has raised $10M in a new round of funding from Benchmark Capital. Business.com provides a search engine for businesses, and was founded in 1999. The company said that it would use the funding to invest in technology infrastructure, product development, and sales and marketing. Business.com is best known as the domain name that eCompanies purchased in 1999 for a record $7.5M.
