DefenseWeb Receives Army Contract
San Diego-based DefenseWeb said today that it has received a U.S. Army contract to develop a Virtual Family Readiness Group (vFRG) application for deployed troops and their families. The application will provides news, announcements, Army resources and tools for troops and their families. Corelis Adds JTAG Support
Cerritos-based Corelis said today that it has introduced a new tool for performing high performance boundary scan JTAG support for semiconductor testing. The company's tool enables customers to perform boundary-scan testing on semiconductor testers and diagnose those tests on a PC. Bluebeam Extends to SolidWorks
Pasadena-based Bluebeam Software has launched a new PDF-generation tool for SolidWorks CAD users. The company's solution allows for conversion of SolidWorks CAD designs to PDF, creation of PDF booklets, and conversion to seven different file formats. The tool makes it easier for users to manage their CAD designs and share them with clients and team members. The company's existing product provide PDF generation and annotation of AutoCAD designs.

THQ Buys Game Developer
Calabasas-based THQ has acquired game developer Blue Tongue Entertainment. Blue Tongue is an Australian-based firm which recently developed THQ's Polar Express for PlayStation 2, PC, and Nintendo Gamecube systems. THQ already operates game development resources in Australia, and the acquisition will give it sites in both Brisbane and Melbourne. Terms were not disclosed. THQ said that Blue Tongue is currently in development of two additional cross-platform releases for 2005.

Connexion To Deploy Internet To China Airlines
Irvine-based Connexion by Boeing business unit and China Airlines announced yesterday that the two companies have agreed to bring high speed Internet access to China Airlines' North American flights. The companies have agreed to install Connexion by Boeing's high speed, real time Internet system on CAL's long haul 747-400 aircraft beginning in Q2 of 2005. Overture Extends MSN Relationship
Pasadena-based Overture Services, the subsidiary of Yahoo Inc. which provides keyword-based search advertising, announced that it has extended its sponsored search distribution relationship with Microsoft. Overture will continue to provide sponsored search results to MSN sites in the U.S. and Canada, Europe and Asia.
