JMAR Appoints VPs
San Diego-based JMAR has added a new VP today to its staff, adding John Ricardi as VP Sensor Products. The company promoted Ricardi from VP of Business Development to the new position to oversee its line of laser-based, early-warning systems for detecting and classifying potentially harmful microorganisms in water supplies. The company also added David L. McCarty as VP of Business Development. McCarty was most recently President of Aquionics Inc.

Keiretsu Forum Opens LA Chapter
Northern California angel investment group Keiretsu Forum said yesterday that it is opening up a new chapter in the Los Angeles area. The chapter, which will hold a meeting in January, said that it will focus on emerging technology opportunities life science, healthcare, and biotech, real estate, and media/entertainment. RE3W Gets $1M
Santa Ana-based RE3W World Wide Limited announced that it has raised $1M in funding from strategic investor First American Corporation for its Internet-based commercial real estate software. The company said that the investment would go towards further development and marketing of its commercial real estate transaction management software. WeddingChannel.com, Home Depot Team On Gift Registry
Los Angeles-based WeddingChannel.com said that it has signed an agreement with The Home Depot to provide a wedding gift registry for the home improvement giant. The deal calls for WeddingChannel.com to give access to more than 11,000 of Home Depot's products on Home Depot's online gift registry. The registries will be available on both WeddingChannel.com and the Home Depot. WeddingChannel.com provides gift registries and other services to prospective bride and grooms.
