Trango Joins WiMAX Forum
San Diego-based Trango Broadband Wireless said that it has joined the industry WiMAX Forum. The provider of fixed-wireless broadband connectivity solutions said that it would ensure that all future products designed with WiMAX-based technology are fully backward interoperable with its current product portfolio. The company said that although WiMAX is still in early stages and not positions for cost effective deployment, the company plans to leverage the technology when it is stable and mature.

Websense Supports Microsoft Security
San Diego-based Websense announced this morning that it will support Microsoft's new Network Access Protection Technology. Microsoft's new comprehensive architecture for secure client management is targeted at endpoint security for preventing attacks and outbreaks on computer networks. Autobytel Sues For Patent Infringement, Drop Quarterly Estimates
Irvine-based Autobytel announced this morning that it has filed a patent infringement suite against Dealix Corporation. The company claims that the competitor is infringing upon a patent it received in 2001 for matching customers and sellers in purchasing goods and services over the Internet and other computer networks. MFORMA, Marvel, Activision in Mobile Entertainment Alliance
MFORMA Group and Marvel Enterprises announced that the companies will bring content based on Marvel's brands to mobile phone users. MFORMA will create mobile entertainment products based on Marvel's comic strip and other characters. Conexant Drops Outlook
Newport Beach-based Conexant announced this morning that it is dropping its first quarter outlook by $35 to $45M. The company said that it is expecting to consume $50M in channel inventory from the firm, which will put its approximate first quarter revenues at $140M vs. a prior $175 to $185M in November. Xyleme Acquires Colorado Software Firm
San Diego-based Xyleme announced that it is acquiring Novizio, a Colorado-based software developer in the area of eLearning and Technical Documentation solutions. Terms were not disclosed. JAMDAT Inks Content Deal with Boost
Los Angeles-based JAMDAT Mobile has signed a distribution and content agreement with Boost Mobile, the youth focused wireless brand owned by Nextel Communications. JAMDAT's wireless games will be available to Boost Mobile customers. Terms were not disclosed. Yahoo Taps X1 For Desktop Search
Search engine giant Yahoo has tapped Pasadena-based X1 Technologies to add the ability to search desktop files and folders on Microsoft Windows platforms. Yahoo said that it will make the desktop search tool available in January to users of its service, as it scrambles to catch up with competitor Google.
