Nexsan Gets Customer Win
Woodland Hills-bsed Nexsan Technologies announced that it has gained a customer win at Xspedius Communications, a integrated communications provider. Xspedius will use Nexsan's ATA-based ATABeast storage to archive and retrieve its mission critical data. Xspedius will use Nexsan's affordable storage in conjunction with its existing EMC SAN to allow it to archive email and other company records. SMC Ships Bluetooth USB Solution
Irvine-based SMC Networks said this morning that it is shipping a new Wireless Bluetooth USB adapter compatible with the new Bluetooth 1.2 standard. The company's SMC-BT10 EZ Connect Wireless Bluetooth USB Adapter allows customers to easily set up a personal Bluetooth network. The new device connects up to seven Bluetooth equipped cell phones, PDAs, or other devices. The device is designed for enabling data sharing and transfer between PDAs and cell phones, and lists for $39.99.

Qualcomm BREWs In India
San Diego-based Qualcomm announced today that it has opened up a development lab in India. The company's new Mumbai lab will provide access to hands-on technical support and development resources for the Qualcomm BREW environment. The company said the lab was established to support the creation of compelling, locally developed wireless data applications. Sendia Adds Treo Support For Salesforce.com
Santa Monica-based Sendia and Salesforce.com announced that it has added palmOne Treo 600 and Treo 650 to its list of supported wireless devices for its wireless access service for Salesforce.com. Salesforce.com subscribers can now wirelessly access CRM customer data on the smart phones using Sendia's wireless salesforce automation product. Ixia Finalizes Chariot Software Acquisition
Calabasas-based Ixia said today that Ixia is finalizing the acquisition of the Chariot network testing software product from NetIQ, effective the first of next year. The company had originally paid $17.5M and royalties for US and Canadian distribution rights, and perpetual license to the source code for the Chariot software line. Arkeia Ships PostgreSQL Backup Plugin
Carlsbad-based backup software provider Arkeia announced yesterday that it has added support for hot backup of the popular PostgreSQL open source database. The company's backup software now supports fully integrated online backup and restore of the database package, allowing administrators to back up the database without having to take the software offline. The hot backup plug-in is compatible with both Arkeia'sNetwork Backup and Server Backup products.

Inphi Raises $18M
Westlake Village-bsaed Inphi has received another $18M in funding for its precision timing devices and high speed electronic components. Funding came from Cadence Design Systems, as well as existing investors Tallwood Venture Capital, Mayfield Fund, and Walden International. The company said that it would use the funding to expand both development as well as market-focused activities, allowing the company to expand production of Inphi's DDR2 logic devices.

Digital Orchid Gets Strategic Investment
San Diego-based Digital Orchid, a developer of real-time wireless applications, announced that it has received a strategic round of venture funding from Qualcomm. The amount was not disclosed.
