Ticketmaster Targets Arts Organizations
Los Angeles-based Ticketmaster has launched a specialized division targeting Arts Organizations throughout North America. The company said that it has launched TicketmasterArts which will focus on ticketing systems for arts organizations. The solution will also support fundraising, development, and customer relations management for those organizations.

Kofax Taps Adobe For Barcode Solution
Irvine-based Kofax and Kofax have inked a deal to integrate Adobe's LiveCycle Barcoded forms into the Kofax Ascent Capture platform. Adobe's barcoded forms automate the capture of user data through Adobe PDF forms, and is captured through Kofax's document scanning process. The two companies are targeting the solution at companies, government agencies, and large organizations that need to manage large volumes of paper forms. Adexa Ships Upgraded Supply Chain Tool
Los Angeles-based Adexa, a provider of supply chain and performance management solutions, announced that it has shipped a new version of its UI tool. The company's Vista graphical user interface service allows companies to configure views of information in supply chain and business applications. Adexa said that the tool does not require programming to customize, and uses XML to allow users to configure and customize their views of data. JAMDAT Invests In Chinese Content Distributor
Los Angeles-bsaed JAMDAT Mobile announced this morning that it has made an investment in a Chinese wireless entertainment distributor, C-Valley. C-Valley provides wireless entertainment distribution through China Mobile and China Unicom, and is based in Beijing. Terms of the investment were not disclosed. C-Valley is also backed by ACCESS Co. Ltd. and TOSE Co., Ltd of Japan, both of whom also made investments in the firm. JAMDAT said that the deal will allow it to distribute its wireless content (More info...)

Occam Raises $5.3M In Private Placement
Santa Barbara-based Occam Networks announced yesterday that it has raised an additional $5.3M in funding in a Series A-2 private placement. The funding came from Alta Partners, U.S. Venture Partners, Norwest Ventures, and New Enterprise Associates. All were previous investors in the firm. The company also said that the firms have committed an additional $2.9M for future investment. Yahoo Releases Desktop Search Tool
Search engine giant Yahoo released its beta of its desktop search tool yesterday, ramping up the battle to extend its search engine footprint onto the desktop. The new tool goes head to head with the desktop search tool from Google, and is available as a free download from its web site. The Yahoo desktop search tool indexes information and content that users have on their desktop hard drives, allowing searching of emails, pictures, and over 200 other file types on Windows based machines.
