Client Dynamics Adds To Advisory Board
Irvine-based Client Dynamics said yesterday that it has added MaryBeth Brown to its advisory board. Brown has served as the national sales manager for Cox Communications in San Diego. Client Dynamics is developing software for sales professionals which allows them to track the interests and information of their clients, in order to build relationships. Userplane Adds Flash Chat To Dating Site
Los Angeles-based Userplane has signed another user of its Flash-based communications tools. The company said that PlentyofFish is using its Flash-based chat and instant messaging tools for its Internet dating service. Userplane has been focusing on providing collaboration software to social networking and other online services.

Webmetrics Signs Web Site Testing Service
San Diego-based Webmetrics announced that it has partnered with Fry, inc. an e-commerce design and development firm to deliver join testing and performance monitoring to online retailers. The Webmetrics SiteStress and AppMonitor services will be available through the Fry's Managed Services for independent testing and monitoring of web sites. The two companies have already used the tools for retailer Lillian Vernon.

HID Ships Smart Card Readers
Irvine-based HID announced yesterday that it has added new smart card readers that comply with the United States Government Smart Card Interoperability Specifications (GSC-IS). The new cards are targeted at U.S. government agencies and contractors for reading U.S. government-issued credentials. The new readers also feature the ability to support HID's standard card format, to ease transition to the new government standard.

Green Hills, Wind River In Contract Disagreement
Santa Barbara-based Green Hills Software has been sued by embedded software firm Wind River Systems in a lawsuit to terminate a cooperative agreement between the two companies. According to Green Hills, the two companies are in a 99-year cooperative agreement which calls for the two companies to collaborate on providing Wind River's VxWorks operating system and Green Hill's MULTI embedded software development tools at joint customers. Qualcomm Wins Injunction Against Maxim
San Diego-based Qualcomm has won an injunction against Maxim Integrated Products, in a case where Qualcomm claimed Maxim had misappropriated trade secrets of Qualcomm. According to Qualcomm, the preliminary injunction prohibits Maxim from misappropriation of Qualcomm's CDMA technology. The court, however, denied Qualcomm's request to bar Maxim from sale of two of its specific chip lines for a year. Intel Opens Digital Home In LA
Chip giant Intel and Santa Monica-based Revelations Entertainment, headed by actor Morgan Freeman and producer Lori McCreary, have announced that the studio and the company have joined to create a digital home open house.
