Movielink Promotes VPs
Los Angeles-based MovieLink has made two corporate promotions this week, saying that it has promoted Peter Sheil to Executive Vice President and General Counsel, and Tyler Goldman to Senior Vice President, Business and Corporate Development. Sheil joined MovieLink in 2001 as counsel to Warner Bros, and served as SVP at ReplayTV; Goldman joined Movielink in 2002 after founding Broadband Sports. Vendare Appoints VPs
Sherman Oaks-based Vendare Group this week said that it has appointed David Burcham as Executive Vice President of Operations, and Michael V. Downs as SVP Corporate Development and Strategic Planning. Burcham served at Toytime.com, ACT-1, and Micron Electronics. Downs was most recently at China Diligence, and served at Magex Ltd., Booz-Allen & Hamilton, and Accenture. Vendare Group runs a group of Internet web site and brands, and focuses on performance-based marketing through those sites.

JAMDAT In Agreement With Radio Shack
Los Angeles-based wireless entertainment publisher JAMDAT Mobile said today that it has inked a deal with RadioShack to distribute its content through RadioShack's retail stores. The deal allows consumers to browse and purchase entertainment content at the retail stores, and then allows for the download of the mobile content directly to the consumer's phone. The company said that the service would be available sometime in the first half of 2005. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Ondax Raises Series C Funding
Monrovia-based Ondax said this morning that it has raised a Series C funding for its holographic filters for the industrial laser, telecommunications, and astronomy market. Funding came from Arcturus Capital and Prospector Equity Capital, with participation from existing investors CIV LLC and the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). Amazon Rolls Out Visual Yellow Pages for LA
Amazon.com's A9 search engine has rolled out a new, visual yellow pages feature for the Los Angeles and other major markets. The new search combines the ability to search for businesses with actual photos of those businesses, taken at street level. Users searching for a business can not only see the storefront, but can visually "walk" up and down a street to see other businesses located in the same area.
