Xyleme Appoints VP Marketing
San Diego-based Xyleme has added Therese McGee as VP of Marketing. McGee was most recently Director of Global Insurance & Healthcare Marketing at FileNet. She also was president of Quasar Enterprise Consulting. Xyleme is developing software for handling large amounts of XML-based data, is licenses technology from INRIA, the French national computer science laboratory.

DIRECTV Adds Broadband VP
El Segundo-based DIRECTV Group has added Evan R. Grayer as VP Broadband. Grayer joins from Time Warner Cable and previous to that was at America Online. The company said that Grayer will focus on broadband options for DIRECTV. DIRECTV provides digital satellite-based entertainment, broadband networks, and services and is owned by News Corp. and Fox Entertainment.

Continuous Computing Adds Exec
San Diego-based Continuous Computing has added Chuck Hill as a pricipal architect in the Office of the CTO. Hill is known for his work on high availability and fault tolerant systems, and was previously at Motorola where he developed the AdvancedTCA standard. Continuous provides a highly reliable communications platform for telecommunications providers, and is backed by Intel Capital, The Viterbi Group, Palomar Ventures, and others.

SKY MobileMedia Embeds In Linux
San Diego-based SKY MobileMedia said earlier this week that the company's software now supports MontaVista's embedded Linux distribution. SKY's application software platform for the wireless industry said that it has integrated its software with MontaVista's Linux Consumer Electronics Edition. MontaVista's Linux distribution is targeted at manufacturers of multimedia handsets and smartphones. Realtor.com Signs Marketing Agreement
Westlake Village-based Homestore.com's Realtor.com business unit has entered into a marketing agreement with a subsidiary of Cendant Corp. NRT will tap Realtor.com's marketing and advertising capabilities. NRT operates residential real estate brokerages in 35 major metropolitan markets in the US and the UK, under the names Coldwell Banker, ERA, Sotheby's International Realty, Corcoran Group, and the Sunshine Group.
