CallWave Names Marketing Head
Santa Barbara-based CallWave has appointed a new head of marketing for the firm. The company said that it has appointed Adrian van Haaften as Chief Marketing Officer. van Haaften was most recently VP Strategic Partnerships at MyPoints, a loyalty reward marketer. van Haaften also served at OpenGrid, Laptop Lane, and Emmperative. Jazz Scores Wireless Chip Win
Taiwanese wireless LAN developer Airoha Technology has tapped Newport Beach-based Jazz Semiconductor for its SiGe BiCMOS chip technology. Airoha said that it will manufacture its 802.11a/b/g transceiver with integrated power amplifiers using the Jazz 0.35um Silicon Germanium (SiGe) BiCMOS process platform. Airoha is targeting a 70 percent reduction in wireless Bill of Materials (BOM) cost, allowing manufacturers to provide better 802.11b/g solutions. Intermix Appoints Woodward to Board
Los Angeles-based Intermix Media said yesterday that it has added William Woodward to its board of directors. Woodward is Managing Director and founder of Anthem Venture Partneres, and founder of MacroMedia. Intermix recently received investment from Redpoint Ventures and set up an independent subsidiary, MySpace.com, focused on the social networking space and music. Woodward also sits on the board of Solarflare, Wavestream, Planet ATE, and others.

DataDirect Powers Atomic Energy Commission
Chatsworth-based DataDirect Networks has won a contract to provide its high speed storage devices to the French CEA Atomic Energy Commission (Commissariat a l'Energie Atomique). The company said that through a contract with Bull, the company's S2A9500 Fibre Channel storage system will be used in a Bull supercomputing system to provide high bandwidth data storage. JAMDAT Grows Quartery Revenues
Los Angeles-based mobile phone entertainment firm JAMDAT Mobile announced its fourth quarter results yesterday, reporting that revnues have grown 22% over the prior quarter and 122% over last year. The company earned $0.6M on revenues of $11.6M, brnging total Q4 revenues to $36.6M. JAMDAT publishes entertainment and games for cell phones and wireless devices. The company said that it now has $64.9M in cash and equivalents.

Buy.com Rolls Out Loyalty Program
Aliso Viejo-based Buy.com has rolled out a loyalty program based on its Yub.com web site, where shoppers at Buy.com and other stores get a 1% rebate on purchases. The Yub.com site puts a shopping spin on social networking, by promoting the ability of friends to recommend products to their friends and others and receive 1% of the purchase of those goods.
