Sendia Taps Integrator
Santa Monica-based Sendia has tapped REGARD Corporation, a wireless professional services company, to provide software and services targeted at the small and medium business marketplace. The companies said that REGARD will offer integration services for Sendia's Wireless Workspace product line. Sendia's applicaitons provide application access on Blackberry Wireless handhelds, allowing users to access their business applications from the field.

OCP Ships Gigabit Ethernet Transceivers
Woodland Hills-based Optical Communication Products has introduced a new line of 1.3 micron VCSEL-Based Gigabit Ethernet pluggable transceivers. The new transceivers are targeted at allowing for transmission of Gigabit Ethernet optical signals of up to 2km over multimode fiber. Connexion, BT Infonet Hook Up Services
BT Infonet and Connexion by Boeing announced this morning that its in-flight, high-speed Internet access service is now available as part of BT Infonet's mobile data services. Business travelers will now be able to use their BT Infonet MobileXpress accounts to not only access Wi-Fi hotspots at hotels and airports, but also on wireless access on airline flights. Kotura Licenses Bookham Patents
Monterey Park-based Kotura said this morning that it has licensed a portfolio of patents in the silicon photonics space from Bookham, a manufacturer of optical components, modules, and subsystems. The patentes cover design and manufacture of silicon waveguide devices and construction of multi-functional silicon chips. Kotura develops and sells integrated opto-electronic products for the optical communications industry, and was formed from the merger of Arroyo Optics and Lightcross in 2003. Book (More info...)

Digital Evolution now SOA Software
Santa Monica-based Digital Evolution today said that it has changed its name to SOA Software to better reflects its focuse on Service-Oriented Architectures (SOAs). Digital Evolution's solutions are used by companies using Web services, and allows those companies to manage and secure their Web services interfaces. SOA Software is backed by Mellon Ventures, Paladin Capital, Palisades Ventures, and Redpoint Ventures, and last received a venture round in August of 2004.

Homestore Finalizes Class Action Settlement
Westlake Village-based Homestore said this morning that it has reached final settlement on the class action lawsuit filed against the company in 2001. Homestore had been sued by the California State Teachers' Retirement System over inflation of the company's revenues and subsequent collapse in stock price. Homestore's will now start distribution of $13M in cash and 20 million new shares of Homestore stock to members of the class action suit.
