Vivendi Buys Entertainment Developer
Los Angeles-based Vivendi Universal's game division said this morning that it has acquired Radical Entertainment, a developer of entertainment titles for video game consoles. Radical's team of over 200 developers will join VU Games and remain at their Vancouver location. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Radical publishes titles based on The Simpsons, The Hulk, and other characters. VU Games is a developer, publisher, and distributor of entertainment titles under a large slate of bran (More info...)

Nexsan Confirms Evertrust Acquisition
Woodland Hills-based Nexsan yesterday confirmed that it is acquiring Information Lifecycle Management company AESign Evertrust in a cash and stock deal. Terms were not disclosed. Nexsan, a provider of serial ATA (SATA) storage systems, said that it is acquiring the content-addressed-storage (CAS) software provider into system level products utilizing Nexsan SATA storage. Goldpocket Goes Shopping On HSN
Los Angeles-based GoldPocket Interactive said this week that it has teamed with TV network the Home Shopping Network (HSN) to offer interactive shopping tools. GoldPocket will provide on-screen technology which allows couch potatoes to order directly from their set-top boxes. The company said that existing HSN customers will be able to easily order items on display through interactive television and remote controls, without having to call in their order. Tarari Delivers BladeCenter XML Accelerator
San Diego-based Tarari announced yesterday that it has teamed with Layer 7 Technologies to deliver a XML Firewall Blade for IBM's BladeCenter servers. Kalypsys Appoints CEO
San Diego-based Kalypsys, a drug discovery company focused on developing new medicines for cancer, inflammation, and metabolic diseases, has named a new CEO. Dr. John McKearn, the company's Chief Scientific Officer, has been promoted to CEO. McKearn was previously at Pharmacia, as well as G.D. Searle.
