Peregrine Expands Into China
San Diego-based Peregrine Semiconductor this week announced that it is expanding its operations into China. The developer of RF CMOS and mixed-signal communications ICs said that it has opened a sales and technical support office in Shanghai. The company said that it is targeting Chinese OEMs looking for reliable, cost-effective RF ICs. Peregrine is backed by Ridgewood Capital, Morgenthaler Ventures, and others.

JAMDAT, MLB Extend Wireless Entertainment Agreement
Los Angeles-based JAMDAT Mobile said this morning that it has extended a multi-year licensing agreement with Major League Baseball Advanced Media. The companies have agreed to publish simulation g*mes for wireless based on MLB properties. JAMDAT will publish titles involving gameplay simulation for wireless devices, and MLB will offer those titles on the MLB web site and at its club sites. JAMDAT develops entertainment titles for mobile phones.

CinemaNow Debuts Concert Videos
Marina Del Rey-based CinemaNow announced yesterday that it is debuting two Grammy Winning concert videos on its video-on-demand service. The company said that it would make the concert video of Ben Harper and The Blind Boys of Alabama's "Live at the Apollo" available for download using the Windows Media Video format. The release is concurrent with the retail release of the concert DVD , and will support both high definition format and portable devices. CinemaNow has recently launched a music vid (More info...)

Talisma Buys Knowledgebase.net
Washington-based customer relationship management (CRM) tool vendor Talisma has acquired Los Angeles-based Knowledgebase.net, a software provider in the area of customer support and self-service, the companies said yesterday. Financial terms were not disclosed. Talisma will incorporate KnowledgeBase.net's technology into its operations, and follows eighteen months of collaboration between the company on product and service offerings.
