SMC Announces New Low Cost Broadband Router
Irvine-based SMC announced this week that it will begin shipping a new broadband cable and DSL router in April. The new SMC Barricade Cable/DSL Broadband Router provides a 4-port switch, print server, and firewall and is priced at $69.99. The new low cost router is targeted at home and small office networks, and allows for the connection of printers directly via USB or parallel port to the router. Green Hills Appoints CFO
Santa Barbara-bsaed Green Hills Software annoucned this week that it has appointed a new CFO. Jeffrey Hazarian will be responsible for the company's finance, accounting, tax, and administrative operations. Hazarian joins from Tenera, where he was EVP, CFO, and Corporate Secretary. Green Hills is a developer of software development and systems tools for the embedded computing market, including operating systems, compilers, and other tools.

Intermix Launches Entertainment Property
Los Angeles-bsed intermix Media said today that it has launched a new web site, Grab.com, targeted as a new entertainment social networking site. The new web site provides animation, games, and entertainment with community and social networking features. The site offers movie trailers, g*mes, DVDs, and the ability to review and rate that entertainment and share those ratings with friends. Intermix also operates the popular MySpace.com social networking site

Gateway Launches Widescreen Mobile Workstations
Irvine-based Gateway launched a new laptop computer yesterday, a new 17-inch notebook PC which the company bills as a Mobile Workstation. The company's new M680 notebook PC is based on Intel Centrino Mobile CPUs, ATI RADEON X700 PCI Express video graphics, and weights 7.7 lbs in a 1.24 inch thick package. Xamlon Targets Flash Developers
La Jolla-based Xamlon announced a new tool yesterday that allows Microsoft C# and Visual Basic .NET developers to easily create applications which run in the popular Macromedia Flash format. The new Xamlon Pro Flash Edition software allows developers to develop their applications using Microsoft's XAML XML-based markup language, and other .NET-based development environments, and export Flash SWF. FastClick Prices IPO, Raises $78M
Santa Barbara-based Fastclick priced its IPO yesterday at $12.00 per share, raising $78M for the internet advertising company. The IPO, led by Credit Suisse First Boston and Citigroup, priced on the low end of the $12 to $14 offering range. Fastclick provides an internet advertising network and tools for advertisers to manage their advertising campaigns across its network.
