ZyXEL, CompUSA In Retail Deal
Anaheim-based ZyXEL has signed a partnership with technology retailer CompUSA to provide its broadband equipment in CompUSA retail stores. ZyXEL, a developer of wireless networking products, said that CompUSA has agreed to offer ZyXEL's line of products, which includes wireless cards, routers, firewalls, and switches. Zyxel targets the home, small office/home office (SOHO), and small to medium business customers.

JAMDAT, Activision Extend Tony Hawk Licensing
Los Angeles-based JAMDAT Mobile and Santa Monica-based Activision are in a deal to license a 3D wireless version of Activision's popular Tony Hawk Pro Skater entertainment title. JAMDAT has acquired the worldwide publishing and distribution rights, excluding Korea, for Activision's Tony Hawk Pro Skater. The wireless entertainment company said that it will publish a 3D vesrion of the sports title for wireless and handheld phones.

VivoMetrics Expands Scientific Advisory Board
Ventura-based VivoMetrics said this week that Dr. Michael Goldman, Professor of Medicine at UCLA has joined the company's Scientific Advisory Board. VivoMetrics is developing the LifeShirt System, a medical monitoring system that allows patients to be monitored for respiratory and cardiopulmonary functions. Peregrine Semi Adds to Board
San Diego-based Peregrine Semiconductor announced this week that it has appointed Alan (Lanny) Ross to its board of directors. Ross was most recently President and CEO of Broadcom, where is continues to serve on its board. Ross also served as president of Rockwell International's Telecommunications Group and has chaired the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA). Peregrine is developing advanced RF CMOS integrated circuits for the handheld and wireless markets.

CallWave Launches Marketing Initiative
Santa Barbara-based CallWave said this morning that it is launching a new distribution strategy for its Voice over IP (VoIP) services. CallWave said that it will begin bundling its services with prepaid cell phones, co-market its services with mobile phone operators, and private label and co-brand its VoIP features with mobile network operators. Santa Monica-based Sendia announced this morning that it has upgraded its Wireless SFA tool for access to salesforce.com. Version 2.0 of the company's Wireless Salesforce Automation software adds deeper integration of a mobile personal information manager, and email, sales activity, and advanced pipeline reporting.
