Integrian Expands Executive Team
Pasadena-based Integrien has expanded its executive team, and appointed Sam Balloch as VP of Operations and Kevin Strehlo as VP of Marketing. Balooch was most recently CEO of Xceedium, and has served at Sun Microsystems, Silicon Graphics, Tornado Development, and Intuit. Strehlo joins from Hitachi Data Systems, where he was Director of Communications. Strehlo has also served at Xdrive, Callidus Software, and Continuus Software. Fandango, Loews Extend Ticketing Agreement
Los Angeles-based Fandango and movie theater operator Loews Cineplex Entertainment said yetserday that the two companies have extended their agreement to use Fandango's ticketing services for an additional six years. Loews will continue to use Fandango's online ticketing services for all of its theater properties. Fandango provides online ticketing of movie tickets, including the ability to print tickets at home.

Userplane Introduces Site Search Features
Los Angeles-based community software applications provider Userplane announced this week that it has added a new community-based search engine, Userplane SiteSearch, for integration into any community-based site. The new site search application uses technology from Transparensee to search for users in a community's user database, returning the most similar matches by keyword. WebSideStory Tapped By Knight Ridder For Web Analytics
San Diego-based WebSideStory has been selected by Knight Ridder Digital, the online division of the nationwide newspaper chain to measure web visitor activity across its network of web sites. Knight Ridder operates 31 daily newspapers including The San Jose Mercury News, The Miami Herald, the Philadelphia Inquirer, and other major papers. Security Firm Warns On Toxic Blogs
San Diego-based WebSense this week warned that blog web sites are increasingly being used by hackers to deliver keyloggers and other malicious software to unsuspecting users. WebSense, a provider of web security software, claims that blogs and blogging web tools are now being used to attract users to sites, and then fooled into downloading viruses and keylogging software. RIAA Files New File Sharing Lawsuits Against Internet2 Users
The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) yesterday announced that it is filing lawsuits today against 405 students at 18 different colleges across the country. The lawsuits target file swapping on the next generation Internet2 high speed computer network using the i2hub file sharing application.
